How fire moves through your property.
Every home in the WUI has three concentric defense zones. The FireScore module assesses each one independently and scores the weakest first.
Immediate
0 – 5 ft
Non-combustible materials only. No vegetation touching the structure. Gravel, stone, or hardscape against the foundation.
Intermediate
5 – 30 ft
Spaced trees, trimmed shrubs, fire-resistant landscaping. Mowed grass and irrigated plantings.
Extended
30 – 100 ft
Thinned trees, reduced ground fuel, managed vegetation. Breaks in the canopy slow an approaching fire.
